GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING, Sept 26, 2008

Thanks to all of you who attended this meeting.  During the meeting we approved the two changes to the Club's By-Laws and Ops Rules.

Then Mark Armstrong and Mike Montefusco gave an excellent presentation on their trip to/from Oshkosh in the Archer.  Lots of pictures and a picture of the rocket powered Velocity airplane (which by the way is on the field in hangar 8 - see attached pictures).

Scott Glover brought over his Stearman and we had a chance to admire that old classic prior to the meeting.

We raffled off a couple of rides in the Stearman and the lucky winners for a ride in the classic bird were Cheryl-Annette Parker and Joe Rector.

They both said the "WOW Factor" was pretty high.

Saturday's EAA pancake breakfast was well attended by members of the club.  Thanks for supporting the EAA.

On Saturday after the meeting we began the project to swap out the door cables but a "technical glitch" prevented that from happening.  The good thing is we now have had some practice in removing the cables so when we do this again in a few weeks, we should have the process down pat.

Both airplanes are up and running.  The Archer already has about 40 hours on the new engine; so in another 10 hours or so, we'll be past the break-in phase.

The oil and filter were changed and we'll have to change the oil again in another 25 hours.  After this change, we'll go back to the 50 hour interval between oil changes.

At the next Archer oil change, we have a couple of maintenance issues to take care of but I don't anticipate the airplane being down for more than a few hours.
