New Private Pilot Ground School begins February 2, 2010...

Ever thought about learning how to fly?  Here's a great opportunity to get started...

The Majors Flying Club will be offering a Private Pilot Ground School beginning on February 2, 2010.

Classes will be held on 14 consecutive Tuesday evenings through May 4, 2010 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm in the McCulloch Room of the L-3 Recreation Center in Greenville.

 

The Majors Flying Club provides an excellent opportunity to learn how to fly.  Our rates are very competitive and we have well-maintained aircraft with maximum convenience and availability.

The Private Pilot Ground School is designed to help learn all the basics of aviation and to pass the FAA Written Exam required for the Private Pilot Certificate.

Included in this Ground School are the following topics:

  • Airplanes and Aerodynamics
  • Airplane Instruments, Engines, and Systems
  • Airports, Air Traffic Control, and Airspace
  • Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Airplane Performance and Weight & Balance
  • Aeromedical Factors and Aeronautical Decision Making
  • Aviation Weather and Aviation Weather Services
  • Navigation: Charts, Publications, Flight Computers
  • Navigation Systems
  • Flight Planning

The course fee is only $449 and includes a full set of course materials (books, plotter, computer, etc.).  Registration is open until January 22.  

 

 

 

 

 

There is no obligation to join the Majors Flying Club to attend this course nor is there a requirement to take flying lessons.

Membership in the Majors Flying Club is required, however, to take flying lessons through the Club and to be able to use Club aircraft.
