Instrument Ground School begins 13 September 2016

The Majors Flying Club will be offering a Instrument Ground School beginning 13 September 2016. Classes will be held on 12 consecutive Tuesday evenings through 29 November 2016 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm in the Majors Flying Club hangar at Majors Field in Greenville,TX.

The Instrument Pilot Ground School is designed to help learn all the basics of instrument flying and to pass the FAA Instrument Pilot Written Exam. It may also be useful as an instrument refresher course. The ground school instructors are highly qualified and experienced pilots who are FAA certified instructors. -- During the course of the ground school, the following topics will be covered:

  • Airplane Instruments
  • Attitude Flying & Aerodynamics
  • Navigation Systems
  • Federal Regulations
  • Airports, Air Traffic Control & Airspace
  • Holding and Instrument Approaches
  • Aeromedical Factors
  • Aeronautical Decision Making
  • Aviation Weather
  • Aviation Weather Services
  • IFR EnRoute

This course is open to the public. There is no obligation to join the Majors Flying Club to attend this course nor is there a requirement to take flying lessons.

Registration is open until 02 September 2016. The course fee is only $349 and does NOT include course materials. A minimum deposit of $100 is due by 02 September 2016 with the remainder due on the first day of class.
